About Us
Grapeview Daycare is a licensed non-profit centre, established in 1988, wholly operated by Grapeview Free Methodist Church, bordering a quiet residential area in West St Catharines. We are conveniently located close to the QEW, Hwy 406, and Fourth Ave Hub.

Purpose and Philosophy
At Grapeview Daycare, we believe children are entitled to opportunities that support and encourage their emotional, social, cognitive, physical and spiritual growth and development.

We seek to stimulate and develop children’s creative thinking and problem-solving skills through both teacher-and child-directed activities.

We strive to promote a positive self-image for each child by encouraging exploration, fostering the development of social skills, cultivating friendships, and promoting a strong sense of community.

We support, encourage and facilitate a co-operative working relationship with parents in order to meet the needs of the children entrusted to our care.
Daycare Program

The Grapeview Daycare Program is designed to meet the needs of the whole child – socially, emotionally, cognitively, physically, and spiritually. Routine schedules are posted and followed in order to provide consistency throughout your child’s day.

Our curriculum is based on children’s self-directed exploration, discovery, play, real work, building relationships, and gaining a sense of oneself as powerful and competent. Our child-initiated curriculum emerges out of experiences in the lives of children, families, and teachers in our program.

Children have many opportunities to explore and experiment at their own level of knowledge. Their activities are both interesting and satisfying to them, and teachers are aware of their need for challenge and success, and for room to grow. Our teachers are trained in playing to learn which provides an understanding of how play provides the foundation of learning.

Our program is built within the pedagogical framework of Ontario's How Does Learning Happen?

Meet The Team
Our teachers and staff combine years of experience as Registered Early Childhood Educators along with more recent RECE graduates and current college interns. It is their knowledge, creativity, passion, care and attentiveness that serve as the heart of our daycare experience.

Most of our educators are Registered Early Childhood Educators. RECE's have a minimum 2 year diploma in Early Childhood Education. Each RECE is registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators, the regulatory body for RECEs in Ontario. All staff are required to have up to date Police Vulnerable Sector Checks, First Aid and CPR training, and immunization.
